S/V Seanchai is available
for private charters for groups of up to six people. With a private charter
you set the itinerary and type of experience you will have. Whether you wish
to entertain business clients, reward your top performers, provide a unique
experience for a few close friends or family, or treat that special someone
to a memory that will be cherished forever, we can put together a charter for
you. If you would like to have private training onboard S/V Seanchai,
Capt. Derry will be happy to accommodate at no additional charge. The advantage of chartering S/V Seanchai is that, unlike a bareboat
charter, you are not required to have any sailing experience. With most charter boat companies you would
be required to have several years of experience before you would be allowed
to take out a boat of S/V Seanchai’s
caliber. If you are not already an
experienced sailor, your only alternative is to hire one of the charter
company’s approved captains. Of
course, even if you hire a captain to sail the boat you must put down a
security deposit to cover the deductible on the boat’s insurance, often
amounting to several thousand dollars.
And you are still responsible for the boat, even if the captain makes
a mistake. On S/V Seanchai the Captain is responsible for the safe operation of
the boat, not you. There is no
security deposit and you don’t need to have any prior experience. Of course, the Captain will let you sail
the boat as much as you like but you can always hand the boat back to the
Captain anytime you’re not comfortable or when you get tired. Your only responsibility is to enjoy your
cruise. Private charters are available for three
hours to 5 or more days. A one day
charter generally starts at Meals are not included in private charters
but we can arrange catering or help you select dining ashore. Seanchai has a
fully equipped galley so we can also help you prepare your own meals aboard
if you choose to anchor in a quiet cove away from facilities ashore. Private charters include licensed Captain,
all pump-out and fuel costs, and there is no additional security
deposit. The prices quoted below are
for the charter of the boat for parties of up to 6 people. In the 2007 season the prices are as
follows:

events. To schedule
a charter. Just give us a call
at (301) 503-1101 or send us an e-mail by clicking on the e-mail address at
the bottom of the page. Tell us the
date you would like and if it is available, we will hold the date for you for
5 working days to allow your deposit to arrive. Drop the deposit in the mail and start
planning for your sail. The deposit is
50% of the base cost of the charter.
The remainder plus taxes are due prior to sailing. The deposit should be sent to: S/V Seanchai, Cancellation
policy. If you cancel prior to
thirty day of your sailing date your deposit will be refunded or transferred
to a different date as you choose.
Within thirty days and prior to seven days of sailing, your deposit is
transferable but not refundable. Within seven days of sailing the deposit is
nonrefundable and nontransferable. If
a charter is cancelled by Seanchai Charters anytime prior to sailing due to
weather, mechanical failures or any other extenuating circumstances, your
entire deposit will be refunded (or transferred if you wish). Refunds for charters cancelled in progress
will be prorated (except as noted in the zero drug policy of the charter
contract). Seanchai Charters is not
responsible for reimbursement of travel, lodging, food, or other expenses
incurred by the charterer. Block Time. For those who wish to make more frequent
use of S/V Seanchai, seven day blocks of time can be purchased for
$4,500 and used for seven individual days, several weekends, or in any
combination that you like. This is a
great program if you are a business that needs to entertain clients. Instead of taking them golfing (like all of
your competitors) take them for a sail on your corporate yacht and stand out
from the crowd. With the block time
program the cost of seven days of yachting is only a fraction of the annual
cost of membership in even the most humble country club. Or, if you want your family to enjoy the
finer things in life but can’t justify the cost of buying and maintaining a
quality yacht for the seven days a year that you get to use it, this is the
way to go. To limit scheduling
conflicts, there will be a limited number of Block Time contracts in 2008. Block rates must be purchased before
reservations are made, cannot be used with any other discounts and are
subject to the same availability restrictions as regular charters. Sorry, but
blocks of time cannot be broken down into increments smaller than one
day. If you want to make a special impression or
just want to experience the finer things in life, you owe it to yourself to
enjoy yachting at its finest. Tell us about your special occasion and Captain
